[Sherlock will find, inside of his apartment, strategically placed on the bed between the John and Jon plushies, a handmade book of sorts. It's been reinforced so as not to be torn apart, and the pages have even somehow been laminated to make them waterproof. There is no title, just a heart painted onto the cover, but upon opening it up it is blatantly apparent what it is.
For lack of a better word, it's a sex handbook. There are meticulous, illustrated instructions about how various sex mechanics work and how many people can be involved in each position or activity. At the very beginning there is even a section about self-pleasure, once again illustrated and explained in great detail.
Tucked into the pages somewhere in the middle of the book is a note that simply reads:]
Happy Birthday, Sherlock! Let yourself relax and have a little fun! We promise you'll enjoy it and that your spirit will not be "polluted." ♥

[ The first time Sherlock lays eyes on the book, he quickly drops it to the floor as if it had burned him and kicks to some corner of his apartment. The note inside remains a mystery because he is busy wandering off and being a sad wet cat.
After Sherlock is dragged back to cafe, he decides he should identify just how such a book got into his apartment. (Assuming the evidence was still there after being dropped and kicked...) He quickly flips through the pages, trying to avoid looking at the material but seeing if something falls out. A note does.
Oh. Shinanoin Heizou and Lyney Snezhevich. This had been a birthday gift.
Guilt builds up inside him, warring with his more depressing thoughts. He feels bad about kicking it, but now he doesn't exactly know what to... do with the book. He'll just... stick it under his bed and figure something out later. ]
